Best Companies have been helping to make the world a better workplace since 2001 when the first 'Best Companies to Work For' list was produced. Best Companies are committed to helping organisations listen to their employee’s opinions so they can improve employee engagement. Each year Best Companies survey hundreds of thousands of employees from around the world to help organisations identify the areas where they can improve.
Being a best company goes beyond the bottom line. It's about excelling in every area throughout the workplace and an organisation's commitment to its most important assets - its workforce.
Focusing on employees brings real benefits such as, improved workplace engagement, better staff retention, reduced recruitment costs and greater financial performance.
Since 2001 Best Companies have been responsible for survey organisation, analysis results and compiling the 'Best Companies to Work For' list which is published in The Sunday Times.
The original list celebrated the best 50 organisations in the UK. Since then the process has been expanded and Best Companies now compile four lists each year to be published in The Sunday Times celebrating the best Small, Mid, Big and Not-For-Profit organisations to work for in the UK.
In 2006 Best Companies launched the Accreditation standard to celebrate all organisations who are doing great things for workplace engagement. Where the 'Best Companies to Work For' list is a competition allowing only a limited number of organisations to be recognised, the Best Companies Accreditation process is a fixed standard recognising all organisations with very good, outstanding or extraordinary workplace engagement.
